John Kenneth (or JK as many call him) is a talented and dedicated trial attorney with over 13 years of representing citizens catastrophically injured by the negligent conduct of individuals and corporations. John Kenneth has handled all kinds of personal injury cases including commercial (trucking) and private motor vehicle accidents, gas fire and explosions, carbon monoxide poisoning, traumatic brain injury and premises liability.  John Kenneth is committed to his clients, and his goal is always to be a zealous attorney seeking to maximize his client’s recovery while also being a caring legal counselor to his clients. John Kenneth endeavors to obtain the best results for his clients and recognizes that this often requires taking a case to trial. Since joining the firm in April of 2007, he has tried 7 complex and multi-week cases to verdict.

Prior to joining Comerford Chilson & Moser, L.L.P. (formerly Comerford & Britt, LLP), John Kenneth gained over five years of valuable jury trial and litigation experience as an Assistant District Attorney in Rowan County and Forsyth County. During his time as an Assistant District Attorney in Forsyth County, John Kenneth tried more than thirty jury trials. John Kenneth brings a wealth of courtroom and trial experience and expertise to the benefit of his clients.

John Kenneth has been admitted to practice in all North Carolina Federal District and State Courts. John Kenneth has been rated as an AV preeminent lawyer by Martindale Hubbell, which indicates that his colleagues rank him in the highest level of professional excellence.  John Kenneth has also been recognized by Best Lawyers of America and, in 2013, John Kenneth was named a “Rising Star” by North Carolina’s Super Lawyer’s magazine.  He has received the distinction of “Super Lawyer” in the area of personal injury litigation from the same publication in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

John Kenneth is a member of the American Association for Justice, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice as well as the North Carolina and Forsyth County Bar Associations. He is also a member of the Chief Justice Joseph Branch Inn of Court. He served on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Forsyth County for over eight years until 2017 and remains a supporter of this respected charitable agency. John Kenneth and his family also enjoy supporting multiple worthy causes including H.O.P.E. of Winston-Salem, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Senior Services of Winston-Salem and North Carolina, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina.

A lifelong native of Winston-Salem, John Kenneth attended R.J. Reynolds High School and obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Wake Forest University in 1996. In 2000, John Kenneth received his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law, where he served as Managing Editor of the Wake Forest Law Review.

John Kenneth and his wife are the proud parents of three wonderful children. John Kenneth is an avid Wake Forest sports fan and, when not spending time with his family or attending his children’s activities, he enjoys playing tennis, reading, and playing the guitar.
